Find Amber Love on The Story Graph

I’m slowly migrating from GoodReads to The Story Graph. This year I’m doubling up on both for the books I’ve read. Reviews are specifically going to be on The Story Graph and my blog site, AmberUnmasked.com. I haven’t found enough people at The Story Graph to feel like it’s a community. Perhaps, that comes with the premium upgrade.
My blog has been going for decades and the last thing I feel like doing is building another site that robust. With that in mind, it’s also the way to sign up for my monthly newsletter!
Meanwhile, Ben Fox is still building up his start-up, BookDNA (formerly Shepherd Books). It operates unlike the other big two. For example, if you look up author Kristin Hannah, you’ll not only find her books with reviews; you’ll also find all the lists her books are on. BookDNA members create those lists with specificity in mind. Lists are great when you are avoiding a problematic author or topic. 😉 You can also get personalized reading recommendations. Get personal recommendations emailed to you every week.
The Story Graph is really for tracking your reading habits unlike BookDNA. You can enter when you start reading a title, when you finish, add trigger warnings from their vast list, and add reviews. If you like statistics about your reading, that’s in there too.
The only things keeping me at GoodReads are the Quotes and Highlights section. If the book I’m reading happens to be Kindle, I can add whichever highlights I’ve made to be public. I find this extremely helpful! I also love quotes and if I know it came directly from a primary source, it’s most likely cited correctly.
